Job Description
Gray Link Technologies is seeking a Network Architect III (Network Solutions Architect) to support the United States Air Force AFINC III program under the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26 NOS). The Network Architect III will design, architect, and implement advanced enterprise network solutions across complex DoD environments, ensuring secure, resilient, and efficient WAN operations supporting Air Force global missions.
In this role, you will:
- Design, install, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, patch, and harden routers, switches, serial consoles, load balancers, and supporting infrastructure.
- Analyze and simulate network traffic in both virtual and physical lab environments to validate network designs and resolve complex issues.
- Architect, optimize, and support enterprise communication networks including overlays, security technologies, and cloud integrations.
- Conduct network and security controls design reviews; lead implementation of hardware appliances and IT security systems.
- Evaluate Cloud offerings and provide architecture recommendations to leadership to enhance mission effectiveness, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
- Monitor and test network performance and utilization, providing detailed reports and recommendations for remediation to Government team leads.
- Develop, execute, modify, or remove automation scripts to streamline network
- Document workload activity per incident or change request for audit and investigation
- Apply deep knowledge of enterprise WAN architectures, network segmentation, Software Defined Networking (SDN), and DoD security frameworks.
- Notify Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC) within 4 hours for all accountable item moves.

What You’ll Need
- High School diploma or
- 7+ years of experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise WAN network
- Expertise across enterprise-level architectures, routing/switching, SDN, virtualization, and integrated security platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in architecting and implementing DoD and Air Force secure network
- Experience with traffic simulation, system utilization monitoring, and network
- Scripting knowledge to support network
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliance (Security+ certification required).
- Active TS/SCI
- Required certifications:
- Must have at least one of the following: CCNP Collaboration, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Service Provider.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting USAF AFINC III, 26 NOS, and enterprise WAN security modernization
- Deep familiarity with DoD security frameworks, SDN design, and cross-domain architecture
